ELDER & DEPENDENT ADULT ABUSE AWARENESS MONTH

The month of June 2021 was declared Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse Awareness Month by the United Nations. The Oxnard Police Department's Family Protection Unit partnered with several agencies in the County to bring awareness to the potential abuse (physical, emotional, financial) that can victimize our elder community. In addition to the signs in front of the police station, the OPD Family Protection Unit made an awareness video https://youtu.be/TBuTMfYwu3o and received a proclamation from the City Council. SI/Oxnard is a proud sponsor of the OPD/FPU's program.

Shimla is in eighth grade this year and lives in Baratia village with her family. Shimla is interested in becoming a police officer.
