Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls
Dream It, Be It provides girls with the guidance and resources they need to achieve their goals. In the first five years since its inception, Dream It, Be It has reached more than 73,000 girls in 14 countries and territories. Girls come out with more confidence, new tools to overcome obstacles, and achievable goals for their future.
The Dream It, Be It program in Oxnard has been attended by over 188 high school-age young girls since it began in 2016. Five of Oxnard’s high schools have participated in the Dream It, Be It program, each sending 20 9th grade students to attend a one-day seminar.
New to the Dream It, Be It curriculum is the “Returning Students” workshop, which will focus on 10th through 12th-grade students who have previously attended a Dream It, Be It one-day event. The returning student’s workshop will highlight college admissions, trade school applications, and discussions by professional women who will provide personal stories on how they succeeded in their careers.
